How do I know if CoolSculpting is right for me?
CoolSculpting is not a method that you can use tolose a dramatic amount of weight. It’s mainly intended for people with a moderate amount of fat who have specific bulges of stubborn fat they want removed. If you are overweight or obese, your doctor may ask you to lose some weight before trying out CoolSculpting.
Is CoolSculpting expensive?

However, when you consult with your CoolSculpting clinician to create a personalized treatment plan, you will get a much better cost estimate.
How many sessions will there be? How long is each session?
Depending on the person, treatment plans may be different. Your treatment plan may consist of just one session, which can range from 35 minutes to 2 hours based on how many different areas that need to be treated. Sometimes, you may have to schedule multiple sessions, but your clinician will make sure to tell you this.
What are the places I can have fat removed on my body?
During the treatment process, the clinician puts a CoolSculpting system on the specific part of your body where you want fat to be removed. In the USA, the FDA has cleared the treatment process for visible fat bulges in the submental area, thigh, abdomen and flank, along with bra fat, back fat, underneath the buttocks (also known as banana roll), and upper arm. In different areas of the world, however, there are different amounts of areas approved for treatment. Make sure to check what has been approved where you live to find out more.
Can CoolSculpting remove my double chin?
Yes! Recently, CoolSculpting has been developed and approved to be used in areas such as below the chin. Because of this, now you can lose that double chin with CoolSculpting and gain a more contoured neck. Typically, patients start seeing results for fat loss in the upper-neck area after just 1 to 2 visits.
Are the results permanent?
When a CoolSculpting procedure takes place, the amount of fat cells in the body is actually being reduced, which is different thanother weight loss methods such as diet and exercise. T amount of fat cells reduced is usually around 20%-25%, but in some cases, it can be as high as 50%. The fat cells are brought to very low temperatures, and then through a scientific process called cryolipolysis, they are eliminated from the body. Therefore, the results are permanent, and you won’t have to worry about gaining the fat back unlessyou have an unhealthy diet.
How does the CoolSculpting treatment feel?
In the beginning of treatment, the treatment area will feel very cold. However, as the treatment goes on, the area goes numb and the feeling becomes hardly noticeable for most people. Following the treatment, the clinician gives a massage to the area, giving a tingly feeling. Most patients are able to go about their usual activities after the session is over without any problems.

What are the side effects?

However, as the area numbs, these feelings begin to subside. These effects are temporary and generally resolve within days or weeks. Though rare, some additional side effects may occur.
Will CoolSculpting prevent me from doing regular activities after treatment?
No. Nearly all patients who decide to be treated with CoolSculpting are able to perform all of their activities like normal following treatment. CoolSculpting is a non-invasive fat removal procedure that is also nonsurgical, so there aren’t any annoying recovery periods or potential critical health issues. Patients often continue their schedules the same day they complete their CoolSculpting treatment.
What happens after the CoolSculpting procedure?
After nearly all CoolSculpting procedures, your clinician will want to make some follow-up appointments to check on how you are doing in the months that follow. The results of the treatment will happen slowly over the course of a few months as your body disposes of the targeted fat cells. It is recommended to maintain a healthy lifestyle after the CoolSculpting treatment.
How long does it take for results to begin to show?
After the treatment process is over, the results of your treatment will slowly begin to show. The fat cells may be dead, but it still takes time for your body to naturally dispose of them. For some patients, this process starts to take place 3 weeks after their first treatment, but it varies with many patients. The most significant results are usually seen between 1 and 3 months following treatment, and fat reduction may continue to be observed for as long as 6 months after treatment.
